On the occasion of the FV’s annual AGM, dance days were held in various regions on the theme of “Transitions” in order to connect across regions on the same topic through dance.

Here are some impressions:

Dance day on 17.3.2024 in Allensbach

After a short detour due to the many large construction sites around Allensbach, it was a blessing to enter the beautiful attic room of the St. Nikolaus parish hall, which had a warm atmosphere thanks to the abundance of wood. The beautifully designed centre invited the women present to form a circle around it.

Astrid, Christine and Regina had put together appealing dances and texts on the theme of “Transitions”. They led us through the day with commitment, confidence and passion.

Dancing together was a joy and did us good Thank you

Christine Urfer

Warmly welcomed by the 3 instructors Astrid, Christine and Regina, a wonderful dance event unfolded in the ‘harbingers of spring’…

The large, beautiful hall, enchantingly decorated and initially with an extended ‘view’ of Lake Constance, welcomed the dancers and formed quite a large circle. The dance instructions sensitively opened up thought-texts, poetry and choreographic symbolism to the sounds of the music in ‘swinging together’.

The inner and outer strings were tuned to the respective instrument of the dance participants … – Dorothea Baier-Jars

Dance day on 16 March in Wetzikon / CH
with Heidi Hafen and Ulla Röber

The blackthorn and magnolia branches in Heidi’s enchantingly beautiful centre are like tiny white pearls on one branch and heavy purple buds on the other. They tell of the transition that is currently underway in nature: spring is coming! The spiral at the foot of the vase speaks of the path we take in life.
On this day, I realise as never before how little attention I usually pay to transitions, of which there are many, both in the circle dances and in everyday life. Most of them are unspectacular and go unnoticed. It’s good for me to draw awareness to them in the dance. “Wandlung”. I suddenly realise how valuable it is to pause at the end of the A part. It allows me to be present when the transition happens that leads me into a new phase. Being present is what makes such a moment a fulfilling moment! A moment in which the Eternal Presence can touch and guide me. (The corresponding dances will follow soon!)

Surprisingly, I have another unforgettable experience with the simplest of all dances, “Spiral and Gate”. What has been fun so far – passing through the gate – I experience impressively as a transition and clearly feel the reorientation afterwards.
Ulla reads from articles in the “Balance booklet” 2/2023 entitled “Transitions”. And with “Rainbow”, we span a large arc. We connect with all the other people who are dancing and thinking about the same topic in different countries today. At the end of the day, I returned home enriched, grateful and with the resolution to pay more attention to the numerous, mostly small transitions in life – and in dancing. – Theres Meyer Felder
